In Germany the 40 gb ps3 has version 2.43.
The list european shows compatible games ps2 with ps3 version 2.41.
Are these 60gb compatibilities?javascript:insertsmilie('')

Just update the PS3 to the newest firmware. However AFAIK the 40gb does not currently have any backwards compatibility - at all.
