According to the list here, Mafia is supposed to work on the PS3.
But it causes trouble for me.
Well, it never worked for me and the PS3 told me it was not supported. After the last update (2.10) on 12-18-2007, however, I got the game working.
The problem is just, right after the beginning, when I finished driving the people around, and when I have to escape and make my way to Salieri's bar, the game stops loading.
Whenever it tries loading the mission called "Molotow Party" or something like that, the status bar keeps stucking. Only 2 blocks are left, but no matter how long I wait, it does not finish loading.
Do you think it's not full supported?
Do you think the DVD is defect (scratches for example)?
Would the PS3 give me an error message if the DVD was unreadable (due to scratches)?
If you know anyone who has this game and a PS3, I would be happy to hear if it really works or not. Is it possible to get in contact with the people who rated the compatibility on your list?
